Anthropic has filed publicly for its initial public offering, and the numbers that leaked in September are now on the record. Revenue for the first half of 2026 was $16.3 billion, according to the filing as reported by TechCrunch and CoinDesk.
The net loss for the same six months was $80.7 billion. TechCrunch says it was largely driven by non-cash accounting adjustments tied to convertible debt, not by money spent running the business.
That distinction matters, and the filing does not make it easy to see through. A charge that grows as the company’s own valuation rises is a strange kind of loss, and it will swing wildly from quarter to quarter.
Anthropic itself warns that it may not achieve or sustain profitability. It also describes its technology as posing catastrophic or existential risks, language that sits oddly beside a roadshow.
On timing, CoinDesk says Anthropic aims to price in mid-November. A Fox Business reporter puts it at 19 or 20 November, which is an expectation rather than a schedule.
The share count, price range and listing venue have not been disclosed. The Financial Times reports that investors expect a valuation between $1.5 trillion and $1.75 trillion, and earlier reports suggested a raise of up to $100 billion at $2 trillion. Those are press estimates, not company figures.
Until the price range appears, the headline revenue is the only number a buyer can actually test, and it covers a half-year that is already four months old.
